Zero Tolerance for Ragging

Wangcha Rajkumar Government College is committed to maintaining a ragging-free campus in strict compliance with the UGC (Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2009 and the Hon'ble Supreme Court directions in SLP No. 24295/2006.

Ragging in any form — physical, verbal, psychological, cyber or otherwise — is a punishable offence. Any student found guilty of ragging is liable to be expelled from the institution, apart from criminal proceedings under Indian Penal Code provisions.

Punishments for Ragging

  • Suspension/expulsion from the institution
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Withholding scholarship/stipend
  • Debarment from exams, results, and degrees
  • Imprisonment up to 3 years and fine

POSH Compliance

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been constituted in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act). The ICC ensures prompt and confidential redressal of complaints of sexual harassment.

Any incident of sexual harassment — verbal, non-verbal, physical, or visual — at the workplace or in academic settings can be reported to the ICC. All complaints are investigated within 90 days with full confidentiality maintained.

Complaint Procedure

Report the Incident
Approach the Anti-Ragging Committee / ICC in person, via letter, email, or drop the complaint in the sealed complaint box outside the Principal's office.

Acknowledgement
Your complaint will be acknowledged within 24 hours. Confidentiality is strictly maintained throughout the process.

Investigation
A 3-member inquiry committee will be formed to investigate the complaint within 7 working days.

Inquiry & Hearing
Both parties will be given opportunity to present their case. Witnesses may be called. Timeline: 90 days maximum.

Action & Resolution
Based on findings, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken and communicated to the complainant.
